"I have been a customer of Derek's for 15+ years now, and have always had good things to say about him and the way he runs his business... however, when I actually NEEDED to use my insurance, the State Farm product has delivered maybe one of the worst customer experiences in my entire life. Back in August, my neighborhood was hit with a hail storm, with meteorological reports stating 1.75" (golf ball size) hail. My neighbor's car, 150ft away, was totaled. Looking out my front window, I can see 5 other houses in my neighborhood replacing their roofs this past winter due to hail damage. I decided to have my roof inspected for hail, and the inspector produced a set of photos they told me were hail, so I decided to file a claim with State Farm. A State Farm inspector came out and took some photos of my property, and came back with a granted claim for some soft metal damage throughout the property, most of which I was completely unaware of, but they stated my roof was unaffected (this was an absolute joke). I have spent the last 4 months attempting to get in touch with SOMEONE at State Farm who can speak to the report, and why they are stating there is no damage to the roof. I have sent in photos from the 1st inspection that show hail damage, which is getting denied by State Farm with ZERO explanation. The answer I get over and over again is "this is not hail damage" - and there is no answer to my follow up question - "if this is not hail damage, then what is it?" I have had to call in countless times. I have been told someone else will follow up with me, only to be ignored for weeks. This entire process has been nothing but transparent attempts to avoid responsibility, and shady business practices. They are acting in very bad faith by not providing any explanations for their findings, denying my request outright simply for a 2nd inspection. It's clear they are hiding behind the age of my roof and some lichen presence to claim there is no hail damage, even though my submitted photos clearly show embedded shingle grains in hail hits, a tell tale difference between lichen and hail. The absolute refusal to answer simple questions on the photos I am submitting tell me all I need to know about this company's shady business practices. So if you decide to go with State Farm as your insurance carrier, I only hope you do not ever find yourself in place where you need to use your insurance for a claim.... or you will also find yourself screwed out of years of $1000+/year premiums you have paid in case of that emergency."
